SWIMMINGLESSONS

We offer a range of classes to suit everyone of all ages, from complete beginners to advanced swimmers.

Most classes last for 30 minutes, with additional time allocated for entering and exiting the pool safely.  To check durations for specific lessons, check out the programs page.

For the well-being of all patrons and to uphold the highest standards of water quality, we kindly request that children with long hair wear swim caps. Goggles are also highly recommended, particularly for children who may have difficulty putting their eyes in the water. Swim caps and goggles are conveniently available for purchase at our swim shop. Please note, for health reasons we are unable to offer ‘loan’ goggles or equipment.

All students under the age of 3, and any child who is not yet toilet trained, must wear a swim nappy.  Swim nappies are available for purchase from reception.

Parents or caregivers are encouraged to wear rash vests in the water to facilitate their child’s independence. This allows the child to grab onto the shirt instead of relying on the parent to lift and hold them constantly.

Streetwear or casual clothing, such as cotton t-shirts and shorts, are not allowed in the pool.

Swimwear, including nappies, are not removed on the pool deck at any time.

Swimmers at the Transition, Turtles, and Seals levels should also bring a water bottle, goggles and specific equipment such as kickboards, pull buoys, and flippers.

For Infants & Toddler Swimming Lessons, which cater to children aged 4 months to 4 years, parental or guardian participation in the water is mandatory.

For all students from 5 years to 12 years old, parents and caregivers must remain seated by the poolside while their child attends their lesson and remains within the facility.

Children aged 5 years and under must be closely supervised at all times during their attendance and must remain within arm’s reach of a caregiver while in the water outside of class.

Parent/Guardians are also responsible for taking your child to the bathroom during the lesson if required and must be poolside at the conclusion of their lesson.

Children not participating in classes should refrain from disrupting or disturbing other patrons or classes.

All equipment and facilities are used at your own risk.

Children are not permitted to enter class teaching areas, whether in use or not, before or after their class.

All new students over the age of 4 must undergo an assessment prior to enrolling into a class. Students will be assigned a skill/class level based on this assessment.

No assessment required for children 4 years and under.

It is imperative that Logan Swim Centre is informed PRIOR to an assessment or allocation of a class if a swimmer has any special needs, including but not limited to, behavioural, medical or learning, so we may cater to these needs.

Stay informed about your children’s skill development and keep track of their progress via our online portal. Our Pool Deck Officers assess and mark students’ skills on a weekly basis, providing live updates accessible through the portal. Once your child has mastered all required skills, you’ll receive a notification allowing you to seamlessly transition their enrolment to the next level.

Take advantage of our School Holiday Programs to offer your children extra practice opportunities on the skills they haven’t yet mastered.

Although we strive to maintain a consistent instructor for your child’s lessons, it can’t be guaranteed.  If the regular instructor is unavailable, a substitute will be arranged.
